There are many instances of a variety of wild species forming symbiotic relationships in the African bush. As an example, the elegant zebra, the ugly wildebeest, and the ornery ostrich make an unlikely trio—one has poor eyesight, one bad hearing, and the other, a lousy sense of smell—but together as a team they constitute the perfect early alert system. They’ve learned that working together exponentially improves their chances of survival.
