White-U House, Tokyo, by 2013 Pritzker Prize architect Toyo Ito l The U-House was built in 1976 in the centre of Tokyo. It was designed by the architect Toyo Ito for his older sister, who had just lost her husband to cancer. In 1997 the house was demolished before Toyo Ito's eyes.
