Big Sur is the place where I lost my heart to California, a few years before I discovered Anaïs Nin's diaries and subsequently got hooked on Henry Miller's oeuvre. Years later, in 1990 I visited the Henry Miller Memorial Library and bought a cassette tape with him reading some of his own work, and that was around the same time that I walked in his footsteps in Paris, and started living the writer's life.
"Develop interest in life as you see it; in people, things, litterer, music — the world is so rich, simply throbbing with rich treasures, beautiful souls and interesting people. Forget yourself." — Henry Miller
