Using wood from pallets to create a barn-wood wall. (well, it looks like barn wood, but it& not.) Would work well with some of the other ideas in here. (painting or staining certain areas of wood, wood on ceiling? Or would it be too heavy?
Love the rustic floor trim. This is done by using the extra wood that comes off of the tree being cut into a square. You can see the bark is still on. Then it is cut into thin pieces for floor trim. Great re-use of the extra lumber from the log being cut.
Reclaimed barnwood wall- basement stairs - love this idea for a spot that is hard to decorate. [we're changing the varnished plywood wall next to the stairs, i wonder if we could do a bit of this idea. or a textured wall paper]
