Chinese lion dances are a very common part of Chinese New Year celebrations. The lion is operated by two dancers: one controlling the head and front legs, the other controlling the back legs and any spotting/support that the front dancer needs. This video shows two scenes in Hong Kong in 2010: a public performance and a smaller-scale version in which a lion dance is performed in stores and businesses to bring good luck for the new year.
