Bruges in a day: the ideal walking route
If you ever plan to visit Bruges, I highly recommend getting there early. I arrived around 7 in the morning and honestly, it was the best decision I could’ve made. The city was still half asleep, bathed in soft morning light, and completely crowd-free. I parked at the station — super easy and only €7 for a full day — and walked straight into what felt like a fairytale city. If you're up for a full day of exploring on foot, here’s the walking route I followed. It covers all the highlights and a few quieter gems too. Trust me: this is how you fall in love with Bruges in just one day.

Sunrise at De Dijver & Rozenhoedkaai
I came to Bruges with one mission: to take photos — lots of them. That’s why I made sure to get there early, before the city woke up. The morning light is honestly magical, and if you’re into photography (or just love a peaceful start), it’s so worth it. I walked straight to De Dijver, then to Rozenhoedkaai — probably one of the most photographed corners of Bruges, and for good reason. At that hour, it was completely empty. The water was still as a mirror. Since the tourist boats don’t start until later, the canals were completely undisturbed. It gave me the chance to shoot some perfect reflection shots of the buildings. 📸 Shot with the Fujifilm X-T30 II: compact, lightweight, and captures every detail beautifully.

Makenyour way towards the Concertgebouw. It’s a more modern contrast to everything else in Bruges, but worth seeing — especially around sunset, when the sky turns soft behind the sleek architecture. 📸 Shot with the Fujifilm X-T30 II: compact, lightweight, and captures every detail beautifully.
Bruges' beautiful cathedral
I visited the Sint-Salvatorskathedraal in Bruges around 2 PM, and the architecture combined with the light streaming in at that moment was absolutely stunning. The cathedral, originally built in the 12th century and later expanded in Gothic style, is full of history and beautiful details. 📸 Shot with the Fujifilm X-T30 II: compact, lightweight, and captures every detail beautifully.
