Topic Sentences: Students work in pairs and pass around paper bags with facts about one topic stapled to it. The students read the facts and write a topic sentence for a paragraph about their facts. Everyone writes a topic sentence for each bag. The next day, read topic sentences and discuss which ones would be the best.
