Sunrise Mall in Citrus Heights, just outside Sacramento, California, opened in 1972. It was the area's premier shopping destination with Weinstock's anchoring the north mall, JC Penney and Liberty House to the east, and Sears occupying the south mall. Macy's acquired the Liberty House location in 1984 and Weinstock's in 1995. This postcard is postmarked 1987 and most likely was taken from the Macy's court, looking northward towards Weinstock's. Authentic 49er Olive Oil?
My daughter, Ally, is a little resentful of my new obsession with olive oil. She calls olive oil my "new girlfriend", and says I should marry it if I love it so much. Ouch! So I am trying to give Ally more attention, while at the same time, hoping to help her see that olive oil really can be fun and cool, and even tasty. Citrus Heights Community Club Historical Marker
This property was donated by Adolph and Catherine Van Maren to accommodate this one-room Sylvan School House constructed in 1862 and relocated to this site in 1927. (A historical marker located in Citrus Heights in Sacramento County, California.)
