Horst P. Horst  (August 14, 1906 – November 18, 1999) is one of the most celebrated photographers in the history of Vogue magazine. Born in Germany, he apprenticed in Paris under Le Corbusier and got his start at Vogue after meeting photographer Baron George Hoyningen-Huene. A Horst photo is known for dramatic lighting and imaginative props and sets. One of the great iconic photos of the Twentieth-Century is "The Mainbocher Corset"  captured by Horst in Vogue’s Paris studio in 1939.
