They say that Krishna enchants the world, but Radha enchants even him. Therefore, she is the supreme goddess of all, and together they are called as Radha-Krishna. Krishna grew up as a cow herder and also goes by the names Govinda and Gopala, which also mean “protector of cows”, this is why he is often depicted with cows. He himself was an accomplished poet and a devotee of lord Krishna and their bond has often been compared to the love of Radha-Krishna. Their love became legendary, and inspired much of the evocative and romantic paintings for which Kishangarh is justly famous.
