Review : Carol and Therese's "forbidden" relationship automatically endears us to their type of pure and wholesome love, and Haynes deepens that with visual flourishes – he frequently photographs them peering through windows, reflections and refractions bouncing and fluttering over their faces, dirt or droplets of water clinging to the glass, as they try to make sense of their world through an obscured lens.
