Amazing how symbols' meaning over time can change and be manipulated...At least as far back as the Templar Knights (1100s) the pentagram is associated w/ the rose, symbolically attached to the 5 wounds of Christ, as well as the idea of the Alpha & the Omega, since one can draw a pentagram from beginning to end in one continuous movement, symbolizing both eternity & rebirth.
