Many WWI soldiers suffered from this awful disease called trenchfoot. This was caused from staying in the wet and disgusting trenches and not being able to clean their feet.

Trench Foot is a medical condition caused by cold, wet and insanitary conditions. It is one of many immersion foot syndromes. The use of the word trench in the name of this condition is a reference to trench warfare.
