08/05/15~I used dried pinto beans (soaked overnight in water) and followed the recipe exactly except substituted a smoky turkey drumstick for the ham hock. It took 5 HOURS on medium to medium high heat to get the beans tender. It's a great recipe, great flavor. Next time I will probably add a little more chicken broth. VERY TASTY! Will definitely make again
