The base of the pendant is a piece of cured reindeer hide with wool cloth trimming the edges. It was attached to the back of a coat. Suspended from the metal links are two metal images of swans and five small conical tubes that represent small fish. Swans and fish are helper spirits of the shaman in his activities. When the coat is worn, the arms are put through the strap loops on the sides.
