this  bodice called "Pierrot", short jacket fitted to small Basque illustrates the  transition of the fashion at that time. The fabric which is blue "Nattier" taffeta silk brocaded gold with "décors à la rivière ", probably seems to be earlier. This "Pierrot" was often worn with a, embroidered cotton gauze skirt. Fully lined with white linen. Pleated ribbon ivory silk faille on the neck and six steel buttons on each wrist

Décolleté carré, le devant baleiné est fermé par un laçage croisé destiné à laisser paraître le gilet ou corset choisi dans une couleur différente. La partie haute est composée de deux compères fermés par 3 boutons recouverts. Manches longues ajustées aux poignets fermées par 3 boutons recouverts, (état suberbe).
