1790 two-piece jacket and gilet

The coup de grace of century costuming, in my opinion. This is an incredible reproduction of the Kyoto Costume Institute 1790 jacket and gilet, done by Reine des Centfeuilles.

Pierrot jacket, c. 1790, at the Kyoto Costume Institute. Have always loved this jacket, but thanks to the vagaries of photography and photographic reproduction...got used to seeing it as BLUE.
