Column Subtraction Made Simple What a wonderful way of making column subtraction simple for any pupil who is finding it challenging. It is so simple but yet so effective! When you are in a position that you have to borrow from a next door place value and the first number is a multiple of 10,100, 1000...., simply subtract 1 from each of the numbers and if by magic the column subtraction becomes a lot easier!
